Criminal Record Check from British Columbia
The criminal record check conducted by the RCMP in BC is called a Police Information Check (PIC) . The "criminal record check" provided by The Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (or CCRTIS), which is available to the applicants across Canada, is different from a PIC. The PIC is required from those who are asked to get Police Information Checks for the purposes of their employment or volunteer services that do or do not involve children or vulnerable adults. Based on the requirement of whether or not children or vulnerable adults are involved, the gravity of strictness in checks differs. In case of PIC required for employment or volunteer services that do not involve children or vulnerable adults, you can apply for a PIC even when you are outside of Canada and it largely involves checks about the applicant’s criminal convictions, outstanding criminal charges and warrants and other judicial orders. On the other hand, in case of PIC (also called as PIC-VS)- for employment or volunteer services that involves children or vulnerable adults, the applicant cannot move an application from outside Canada. In this case, as an added precautionary measure, even non-convictions and files in which the applicant was a bona fide suspect is also included in the report, in addition to the report on criminal convictions, outstanding criminal charges and warrants and other judicial orders.
RCMP accredited fingerprint companies
RCMP’s Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) grants accreditation to fingerprint companies, who are then authorized to submit fingerprints to the RCMP's Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) for criminal history background checks from its National Repository of Criminal Records. These companies are authorized to take fingerprints on paper and then convert the same by digitization process for electronic submissions. The fingerprints submitted through this mode are as valid as fingerprints submitted electronically via Electronic fingerprinting devices. Hence, we at Hayaku, being an international affiliate to RCMP’s accredited fingerprint company, are well authorized to provide services to individuals whose fingerprints are taken outside of Canada.
