Check by the FBI in which it is verified whether the applicant has a criminal record or not, and after such verification, his Police Clearance certificate is granted providing the detailed information regarding the criminal record of the applicant that can be legally disclosed. This certificate known as PCC is provided by the FBI, after doing complete criminal record background check. PCC is required for varied purposes by the applicants, most commonly for immigration, visa and employment into other countries. A police clearance certificate is also known as Criminal Background Check, Criminal Record Check or PCC from FBI. It is usually required for:

Do you record fingerprints on standard white paper stock?
Yes. FBI will accept FD-258 fingerprint cards on standard white paper stock.
Is it required for me to print the FD-258 or do you have it printed in your office?

I need to get only my finger printing on the Form FD-258?

How will you record my fingerprints?
We would record rolled impressions of your all 10 fingerprints and impressions of all 10 fingerprints taken at the same time (these are sometimes referred to as plain or flat impressions).
Do I need to provide full Social security number or only the last four digits?
If the last four digits of your social security number are needed on your response letter, then please ensure your full nine-digit Social Security number is on the fingerprint card when submitting your request.
How can I pay US $18 fee?
You can pay by credit card using the Credit Card Payment Form.
What if I do not have a credit card?
In such a case, the applicant needs to obtain a money order or certified check for $18 U.S. dollars made payable to the Treasury of the United States.

What if my fingerprints get rejected?
The FBI may reject the fingerprint card for poor quality. If this is the case, we will retake your fingerprints without any additional cost.
Do you provide live scan fingerprinting or ink and roll fingerprinting?
We provide both the services. Electronic fingerprints are captured electronically by a digital fingerprint scanner by a technician. Ink and roll fingerprints are captured by traditional ink and roll method in which the technician records rolled impressions of all 10 fingerprints and impressions of all 10 fingerprints taken at the same time (known as plain/flat impressions).
Do I need to submit my fingerprints to FBI digitally if I am applying police clearance certificate/ Identity History Summary Check/PCC from FBI?
You just need to send the standard FD-258 card to the FBI directly (along with the application form and other required forms) to retrieve your criminal background check certificate/PCC from the FBI.
What is the role of Channelers in transmitting the fingerprints to the FBI?
FBI approves the Channelers to receive the fingerprints (taken on FD-258 card) and other required documents and then electronically transmit the fingerprints to the FBI expediting the application process and reducing the wait time to receive the certificate from 12-14 weeks plus mailing time to 10-12 days only.
